February is National CTE Month and this year’s theme is “Opportunities for Success.”   In this edition of the CTE Newsletter, Cumberland County students embrace the “opportunity” to learn more about CTE programs at their local high schools.  Gray’s Creek High School sponsors a Club Day, Pine Forest High students “Help the Homeless” by supplying them with hygiene items and personal supplies, and Anne Chesnutt Middle School students create a combined CTE / Black History bulletin board.  Also in this edition, the Health Science II Honor students at Cape Fear High School held their inaugural Inhale Courage, Exhale Hope 5k walk/run drive.   Both Douglas Byrd High and E. Smith High School receive $1,500 grant from Piedmont Natural Gas.  Three FIRST Robotics teams from Westover High School’s  Academy of Engineering have an opportunity to test their robots at the FIRST Tech Challenge Competition.  Read more in the February 2016 Newsletter.
